Do I need a referral from my Doctor for physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists are first line practitioners, which mean you do not need a referral from your Doctor as a physiotherapist can diagnose certain conditions. If you have had surgery however your doctor will refer you for physiotherapy.

Will my medical aid pay for physiotherapy?

This practice charges medical aid rates, so if you are on a plan that covers physiotherapy and you have not used your benefits or exhausted your savings it will be covered. It is best to check with your medical aid before you come for treatment.

Can a physiotherapist book me off?

If the condition is in the scope of practice (something a physiotherapist can treat) and warrants certain time off.

Does this practice treat WCA/Injury on duty patients?

Yes we do. Bring along all necessary documentation: ID, employers report of incident, First medical report and referral from the Dr.

How many sessions of physiotherapy do I need?

It will depend on your injury/condition and how you respond to treatment.

What do I need to bring to the appointment?

Bring your medical aid card if you want us to claim from your medical aid. Please dress appropriately so that the area being treated can be exposed for evaluation and treatment. Also dress comfortably in case exercises will be shown and practiced.
